Meet the DaySpring Counseling Owners

Dr. Jason & Stacy Newsome

The owners of DaySpring Counseling Center, Inc.

Dr. Newsome is a licensed professional counselor and has been in the mental health field for more than 15 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from WVU Institute of Technology, master’s degree in counseling from Marshall University, and PhD in counseling studies from Capella University. Dr. Newsome is also the program director for the mental health counseling program at University of Charleston. Stacy holds a business degree from WV State University. After working for Rite Aid Corporation for more than 10 years, she has served as the Vice President at Dayspring since its opening.

Jason and Stacy began Dayspring Counseling Center, Inc. simply as a way to provide care to those who are struggling. They have a fundamental belief that people can improve their lives. Their belief that people can change the way they think, feel, and act is a driving force behind their work at Dayspring.

Since the opening of Dayspring Counseling Center, Inc. in 2015, they have committed themselves to the idea that people can have better relationships, a stronger sense of purpose, and have fulfilling lives regardless of what they have been through or where they’ve come from.

Jason and Stacy’s faith is important to them. In case you are wondering, the name “Dayspring” comes from Luke 1:76 – 78 (NKJV),

And you, child, will be called the
prophet of the Highest;

For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,

To give knowledge of salvation to His people

By the remission of their sins,

Through the tender mercy of our God,

With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;

To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,

To guide our feet into the way of peace.

Jason and Stacy have 4 children. They love to travel, play golf, enjoy the outdoors, and serve in their church.
